ANTI-RACISM AND DIVERSITY WEEK 2023: Call to join online preparatory policy meetings
Racism is a social injustice that many racialised individuals and communities continue to suffer from on a daily basis. For this reason, the International Day of Elimination of Racial Discrimination is a crucial and relevant occasion to highlight the struggles of people subjected to racism and racial discrimination, while at the same time facilitate solution-based discussions. To honor this day, the European Network Against Racism (ENAR) and Members of the European Parliament of the ARDI Intergroup, alongside Open Society-Europe and Central Asia will be co-hosting the second ever EU Anti-Racism and Diversity Week in Brussels on the 20-22 March 2023.
We are seeking civil society organisations, experts, researchers, activists, advocates to join and contribute to the online preparatory policy meetings that will take place prior the anti-racism week. The aim of the preparatory meetings is to provide an inclusive space to discuss specific selected manifestations of racism and its intersections with the various fields. The anticipated outcome of the policy meetings is a manifest of policy recommendations that will be presented during the anti-racism and diversity week. This will be a useful document for the different stakeholders to resume their advocacy efforts beyond the Anti-racism and Diversity Week.
Policy areas in which we are seeking your expertise and contribution:
- Intersectionality and structural racism
- Colorblind social policies
- Solidarity building mechanisms and racial discrimination
- Access to the healthcare
- Policing and law enforcement
- Democratic processes and rule of law
The preparator meetings will take place on the following dates:
- 3 March 2023 at 16:00-17:30 CET
- 13 March 2023 at 16:00-17:30 CET
