WEBINAR: Challenging the Status Quo – Diversity Trends in the European Parliament
Brussels, Belgium, 16 May 2024 – As we approach the pivotal 2024 European elections, the European Network Against Racism invites you to a webinar that will examine how the European Parliament has been addressing diversity and inclusion.
WEBINAR: Challenging the Status Quo – Diversity Trends in the European Parliament
When: 22 May 2024 at 16:00 (CET)
Topic: Challenging the Status Quo: Diversity Trends in the European Parliament
The webinar will explore key diversity questions:
- How representative is the European parliament of the diverse demographic of the wider European population?
- What constitutes diversity, and what benchmarks define meaningful representation of minorities?
- What measures has the current mandate undertaken to promote equality, diversity and inclusion?
- Is Brussels still so white? What can we expect in the coming mandate? What implications do these findings have for the upcoming parliamentary elections?
During the webinar, we will share exclusive research findings from our upcoming report ‘Challenging the Status Quo: A Critical Study on Diversity Trends in the European Parliament’ that quantitatively and qualitatively assesses diversity trends in the current and previous parliamentary mandates. The webinar will also serve as a launch of a fact sheet summarising the key findings.
The webinar will begin with an introductory session highlighting key insights and research outcomes, setting the stage for deeper exploration and discussion. The speakers will also have the opportunity to share their perspectives. We will also leave some space for the audience to ask questions.
