Participants also discussed, ahead of the European Elections, how European Parliament candidates will address the question of access to employment for minorities and migrants and what the role of the next European Parliament should be in this regard.

21 March is the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. This year, ENAR will launch its annual European Shadow Report with a focus on racism and discrimination in employment.
The 2012/2013 edition looks at the specific situation of racism and related discriminatory practices in employment. It reviews manifestations of discrimination on the grounds of ethnic origin and religion/beliefs in the labour market in Europe, illustrated by examples in different EU Member States, and examines how EU countries attempt to combat these discriminatory practices.
The launch will bring together MEPs and representatives of civil society organisations. The aim is to discuss, ahead of the European Elections, how European Parliament candidates will address the question of access to employment for minorities and migrants and what the role of the next European Parliament should be in this regard.
