The report of the ENAR-OSF 2013 Symposium on equality data collection is out!

Without reliable disaggregated equality data, it is hard to measure inequalities and design policies accordingly, or even to prove to lawmakers and employers that differential treatment exists and needs to be addressed. The symposium aimed to address this issue and strengthen political will for equality data collection among policy and decision makers.


Some of the main conclusions of the symposium include:

– There is little debate on ethnic data in the EU

– There are numerous misconceptions about data on ethnic origin

– Ethnic data are not officially and comprehensively collected for the purpose of combating discrimination in the EU

– Data are collected outside of international standards and safeguards
