Push-backs at borders: Croatia violated rights of 6 years old Madina Hussiny, ECHR court rules

This is an important step forward from our member Center for Peace Studies in Zagreb in the fight against police brutality.

Last week the European Court of Human Rights ruled that the Republic of Croatia violated the right to life of #MadinaHussiny, an Afghan girl. Now Croatian NGOs are demanding the urgent dismissal of the Croatian Ministry of the Interior, Davor Bozinovic. What happened?

If not for the strategic litigation by ENAR member, Center for Peace Studies (Zagreb), the case would have been one of many forgotten and ignored.

While the toll of deaths at the border rises every day – who will be held accountable?
How far shall we go to acknowledge that #allmigrantlivesmatter and that institutional abuse cannot be left unanswered? After this strong and final confirmation of the ruling, the Government of the Republic of Croatia and Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic  can no longer turn their away heads. Instead they must urgently dismiss those responsible.
