Eroding the Rule of Law: Racism and Migration in Europe

ENAR project, Eroding the Rule of Law: Racism and Migration in Europe, draws on fieldwork between 2024–2025 across 5 European borders:

• German-Austrian,
• German-Czech,
• Italian-French,
• Slovenian-Croatian,
• the Basque border region

and 3 EU countries

• France, Cyprus and Greece

It is an in-depth investigation of migration governance in Europe, seeking both to document instances of profiling and violence, and to determine whether they represented isolated cases or formed part of a wider pattern of racialised migration governance in Europe.
