Addressing Islamophobia: A response to the Covid-19 crisis and broader inequalities
ENAR and a collective of NGOs presented recommendations on addressing Islamophobia in response to Covid-19 and broader inequalities, during an NGO roundtable with the European Commission coordinator on combating anti-Muslim hatred.
The European Commission round table which took place on 29 May 2020 was an opportunity for NGOs working to fight Islamophobia in Europe to share their challenges, exacerbated by the COVID19 pandemic, and to engage with experts and representatives of EU institutions to end Islamophobia.
The collective of organisations put forward 11 public actions to respond to the crisis, protect Muslim communities, and tackle the structural manifestations of Islamophobia in Europe.
