EU Anti-Racism and Diversity Week

The first-ever EU Anti-Racism and Diversity Week is taking place from 23 to 26 September 2019 in the European Parliament in Brussels.

At the start of the European Parliament’s new mandate, the European Network Against Racism, the European Parliament Anti-Racism and Diversity Intergroup, and Each One Teach One are co-hosting the first EU Anti-Racism and Diversity Week in the European Parliament.

This week of events and discussions will bring MEPs and activists together to build a strong anti-racism/anti-discrimination agenda for the European Union, with all relevant stakeholders across various communities throughout Europe.

Informed by an understanding of the need to combat structural racism and be intersectional, the week will cover issues such as:

  • Equality and non-discrimination legislation, policies and practices
  • Institutionalised discrimination as a result of law enforcement, immigration, counter-terror, and migration policy
  • Political participation and representation
  • An intersectional approach to gender policy
