Statement of Martin Schulz on the Equality Demands

"I welcome the 7 ENAR Equality Demands for the New European Parliament. The fight against racism must be intensified. I do not want to live in a European Union where discrimination against any group or individual is accepted. I agree in spirit to these demands, even though I can´t agree to everything to the letter. I believe that the issues raised are vital and require urgent political action. I believe we need strong European and national policies to integrate people from all regions in the world in our society. If I am elected Commission President I will commit to an ambitious equality agenda."
