ENAR is recruiting a part-time Senior Budget Officer

The European Network Against Racism (ENAR) is the only pan-European anti-racism network that combines advocacy for racial equality and facilitating cooperation among civil society anti-racism actors in Europe. Our mission is to achieve full equality, solidarity and well-being for all in Europe. Our team is based in our Secretariat in Brussels and our member organisations work in all EU countries.

Job profile

The Budget Officer will be based in Brussels. This is a part-time position (19 hours/week). The starting gross salary is 2980 € per month on full-time basis with a possibility to take into account years of expertise, plus benefits.

The Budget Officer works under the supervision of the Management team.
S/he is responsible for the organisation’s budgets and projections and the statutory administration. The Budget Officer reports to the Director and works closely with the Administrator and the Deputy Director Programmes.

In support of the Management team, the staff and the Board, the Budget Officer:
- prepares all the organisation’s budgets and projections, including for the applications & reporting to donors
- coordinates auditing process and answers auditing questions together with the Administrator
- supports the Management team on fundraising matters
- regularly updates the external Accountant
- reports to the Treasurer when requested
- oversees adjustments to the ENAR Statutes and Operating Manual
- participates in ENAR meetings as requested
- performs other tasks related to the post as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Director.

Person requirements

- Strong analytical, financial and administrative skills
- Extensive experience in budgeting multiple projects
- Extensive experience in preparation of financial applications and reporting, preferably with the European Commission and various foundations
- Good understanding of the needs of a not for profit organisation
- Experience in fundraising is an asset
- Highly developed sense of responsibility and commitment to accuracy in financial and administrative matters
- Experience in working in an international context
- Good team player, sound judgment and maturity
- Commitment to the struggle against racism and the promotion of equal rights
- Ability to write and speak in English and French
